The diagnosis was tough but I've learnt to live with it. It's become
normal. Well, it was pretty rough on my parents and friends, but these
days it’s not a problem any more. I don't have a girlfriend right now,
but that has nothing to do with my diabetes. I just like my freedom.
In my spare time I love doing a bit of everything – motor biking, snowboarding and driving motor boats. I also love everything that has to do with fire prevention – I'm even a member of the voluntary fire brigade.
I eat vegetables non-stop but this has nothing to do with my diabetes. I haven't ever had any trouble with alcohol and diabetes. I have much bigger problems when I drink Coca-Cola than when I drink alcohol. So when I go out, I often do drink something alcoholic.

I've had diabetes for eight years and have been wearing an insulin pump
for four years now. It's really practical, especially when you're out
and about. You can just eat, without having to worry about it. The only
annoying thing about the pump is that the alarm will go off and then it
will keep ringing. Sometimes my blood glucose levels are a little hard
to regulate but I hope that will get better over time. I probably check
my blood glucose levels five or six times per day.
Seriously, I don't think about my diabetes all that often, it's kind of like I didn't even have it. In the future I hope to have a good job. I also hope that my diabetes won't bother me too much, so that I don't have to take care of it all the time.
My advice to you: Never give up – if you have diabetes you simply have to keep living with it.
