Last Updated 2nd November 2017

Medtronic would like to advise you on the availability of the Enlite™ glucose sensor, part of the Continuous Glucose management (CGM) system for Medtronic’s MiniMed™ Veo™, MiniMed™ 640G insulin pumps and Guardian™ Connect.

  • Due to a significant increase in demand for our enhanced Enlite™ glucose sensors, we are experiencing limited availability of this product. Please be assured that this situation is not a result of a product recall or any concerns with product quality.
  • Broader awareness around the benefits of CGM coupled with new reimbursement coverage in some countries has prompted increased utilisation of sensors, particularly over recent weeks.
  • Based on the continued increase in demand, we have revised our availability estimates and believe that supply constraints will remain for some months. As a result, there may be some delays in shipping sensors to you during this period.

To be clear, we will secure sensor supply to our existing patients based on each individual maintaining their normal usage and ordering patternsIn addition, we have taken steps to prioritise the needs of patients who are currently on our therapy, before expanding availability to new patients.

We understand the significant impact this may cause to you and deeply regret this current situation. Serving existing patients on CGM is our top priority and we have undertaken a number of actions to increase sensor production in order to adequately address current and future patient needs. Please know we are working hard to improve the situation as soon as possible.  These actions include:
